1 in 32 is a community-led project in Brent, shaped by the people who live in and care about the borough. It has grown into something powerful thanks to our community reporters ten residents who brought their creativity, insight and courage to tell the real stories of Brent. Together, with filmmaker Hannah Oliver and support from The Equality Trust, we’ve made a space to listen, share and amplify voices that matter.

The project isn’t just about watching a film it’s about imagining change and seeing the difference you can make, right where you are. Whether it’s speaking up, helping a neighbour, or thinking differently about the spaces and systems around you, every small action matters.
Through stories, clips and conversations, 1 in 32 explores what people love about Brent, what needs to change and how we can create a future rooted in justice, kindness and community power showing that change isn’t just for groups or organisations; it’s for anyone willing to act.
